Onder de Kap (Under the Hood)

Photographed on a wooden easel in the studio, this painting shows a hooded head staring out from under heavy folds of pale cloth. The face is modelled in cold blue and deep plum with dark hollowed eyes, while an earlier charcoal version of the same motif is pinned on the wall behind.
